General Manager / Licensee at Hotel - Hunter Valley Region

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Licensee/General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Hotel situated in the Hunter Valley Region. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the pub operations, ensuring compliance with all licensing laws, and leading a motivated team to drive venue performance, events and patron experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily business operations, ensuring efficient management of the pub.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
  • Manage and motivate staff to achieve business targets and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Handle the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
  • Manage inventory and resources, including ordering and maintaining stock levels.
  • Promote and work with our marketing agency for the pub, organizing events and initiatives that align with customer preferences and seasonal opportunities.
  • Address customer complaints and issues swiftly and effectively to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment for all staff.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager, Licensee, or similar managerial role in the hospitality industry, preferably in a pub setting.

  • Strong knowledge of business management principles and practices.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Passion for the hospitality industry and commitment to providing high-quality service.

  • Current RSA & RCG certification.

  • Current liquor license and advanced licence preferred (If you do not have this qualification, we would still love to hear from you)
